Emergency notice

If you suspect a stroke, call your local emergency number immediately (911 in the US, 112 in India, 999/112 in Kenya). Do not wait to see if symptoms pass. Do not drive yourself.

FAST warning signs

Face drooping on one side; Arm weakness or numbness, especially one-sided; Speech difficulty or slurring; Time to call emergency services. Sudden severe headache, vision loss or loss of balance are also warning signs.

Why minutes matter

Stroke treatments that restore blood flow are highly time-dependent. Earlier hospital arrival is associated with better outcomes. Emergency clinicians — not websites — determine diagnosis and treatment.
